Digital twin

Digital twin: the digital model of the work

The creation of an As-Built BIM model starts from the field acquisition of site geometric data through the integration of laser scanner technologies with photogrammetry and other standard topographic instrumentation, such as total station and GPS. This data forms the basis for the creation of the BIM model, which will contain all the information related to the geometry acquired, such as: material types, installation, maintenance characteristics, necessary certificates.

 

This allows the creation of the actual Digital Twin of the work, which enables the management and use of the work itself through the use of digital tools of any kind.

Through adequate design of the Information Legacy of the BIM model of the work, an interconnected ecosystem of different data sources can be created. The integration of the BIM model with Asset Management processes enables the optimisation of all operational, management and preventive maintenance processes through the use of IoT and ML technologies for monitoring activities.



The application of Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies in the construction sector aims to bridge the gap between “mental or digital model” and reality. This proposal consists of sharing, through a collaborative platform, the digital twin of the asset and its information assets, including through portable devices (smartphones, tablets, viewers, etc.), with the aim of fostering collaboration among the various professionals involved.
